An Anabaptist curriculum for urban youth ministry
For most urban youth teachers too much time is spent deciding what to teach and not enough time studying the lesson. City Light Ministries empowers teachers to share the entire Gospel narrative, take on cultural topics, and point students to Christ.

Passionate to share Jesus with urban youth
This curriculum was created by people involved with urban children's ministry. We know the struggle of spending more time on what to teach than on the lesson content.
After spending 3 years creating it for our urban youth ministry in Elkhart, IN we wanted to share it with others.
- Each lesson theologically approved by Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church
- Used by Cornerstone Ministries
- 18 people spent 1,000 hours to complete this project
Successfully implementing Cornerstone Curriculum
The plan to success
Buying a new curriculum isn't magical, unfortunately. But, if you follow these steps you're going to set your organization up to win. Whether that's with Cornerstone Curriculum or something else.
Get buy-in from staff and teachers
It's critical to get your team on board with switching curriculum. Send them a link and ask them to research Cornerstone Curriculum and pray about this decision.
Buy Cornerstone Curriculum
It's easy to buy. Choose your student size, subscribe, and get automatic and immediate access to all lessons.
Organize the lesson schedule with teachers
Manage your lesson schedule either on a shared calendar, Google Doc, etc. Make it easy and clear for each teacher to know what this week's lesson is and the upcoming lesson. We recommend going through the modules and lessons as they are organized.
Share the entire biblical narrative with your students
The best part is that each of your students will hear the complete biblical narrative because of a systemic approach of going through the entire Scriptures.
Here's what urban youth teachers are saying
It makes it easier to relate to the kids.
I really enjoy using this curriculum. It emphasizes the main points and shows the objective of the story. Because of all the resources given, it makes it easier to relate to the kids.
Everyone is on the same page.
It is so nice for all the teachers at our kids club to be teaching the same lesson each week. The directors can introduce the lesson in assembly, and the craft team can have a craft that correlates with the lesson. Everyone is on the same page.
Makes studying for the lesson a whole lot easier.
I love having the lesson outline in the Cornerstone weekly curriculum. All the main teaching points are right there, and it makes studying for the lesson a whole lot easier.
A note from the board
Our hope is that the Cornerstone Curriculum helps teachers reach a whole different level. Not to coast through the lesson prep but to help them be more creative and interactive than ever before.
After a dozen people spent hundreds of weeks and countless hours prepping, researching, outlining, and reviewing lessons we ended up with what we believe is truly a one-of-a-kind curriculum.
The lessons are from an Anabaptist worldview and designed for for unchurched, urban youth.
Creating a curriculum was not our first thought but when we couldn’t find something with our values, we decided create it.
We are incredibly proud of how this project has been completed, so grateful for everyone who dedicated time and resources, and blessed to be able to use it in our kid’s club in Elkhart, IN.
Now we want to make it available for other urban youth ministries across North America.
